INTRODUCCION A SZEGED

es la cuarta ciudad más grande de Hungría. Se encuentra en la frontera sudoriental, junto a la embocadura del río Maros, a ambas orillas del tío Tisza. Es la capital de la región llamada Csongrád. Es a la vez el centro cultural y comercial de la región. Szeged es uno de los centros de la industria alimenticia en Hungría, conocido especialmente por su pimiento, Szekelygulyas y Pick salami.

COMO LLEGAR

Si no viene a visitar la ciudad en coche, la mejor manera de llegar a Szeged es seguramente en tren, a través de Budapest. Si llega a la capital húngara en avión, autobús o tren, simplemente tendrá que tomar el metro línea azul y bajarse en la estación Nyugati. Cada dos horas sale un tren tipo AVE (el recorrido supone unas 3 horas) y los trenes Inter City salen 4 veces al día. En frente de la estación de trenes de Szeged hay una salida de tramvías que le llevarán al centro de la ciudad. Si su destino es el centro de la ciudad, debería tomar el tramvía hasta la plaza Széchényi. De este modo, no podrá pasar el centro.

Votive Church

It is the fourth largest church in Hungary. The dome is 54 m outside (33m above the inside floor) and the towers are both 91m high. The "Heroes' bell" in the tower on the Tisza side weighs 8600 kg.

Municipal Somogyi Library

has about 1 million volumes of books and periodicals. Many of them are in English, German and French. The University of Szeged also has specialized libraries. The Central Medical Library contains 138.000 books and periodicals and has a direct medline connection with the European medical databases. Jewish synagogue

Opening hours:
Synagogue is closed on Saturdays and on all Jewish holidays.
