INTRODUCCION A HEVIZ

is located in the southwestern part of Hungary. It lies near Keszthely, only 6 km from Western Balaton. It is the most important spa resort in Hungary. Lake Héviz is the second largest, biologically active, medicinal lake in the world. The temperature of the spa varies between 33˚ and 35˚C in summer, and around 24˚C in winter. The water of the lake has a special curative effect on the different kinds of rheumatic, locomotor, muscle, and nervous system´s disorders and gynaecological problems. The cure in Hévíz is not only for rehabilitation but it also serves for prevention, relaxation and recreation.

Spa

The water of the Hévíz Lake is rich in dissolved gas components, such as of carbonate, sulphur, calcium, magnesium and hydrogen carbonate. The medicinal mud, which covers the bed of the lake in a thick layer, deserves special attention. It is unique of its kind, contains both organic and inorganic substances and the radium-salts and reduced sulphuric solutions in it represent special medicinal factors. Complex balneotherapy or drinking cure has favourably effect and heal rheuma, osteoporosis, degenerative spinal/joint diseases, Bechterew syndrome, inflammation diseases of the joint in their chronic phase, tender tissue rheum, secondary diseases of the joints, as well as chronic, peripheral, nervous, and mechanical-related complaints. It may be used for post treatment of injuries and locomotor operations.

The Spa is not available for those suffering from

infectious diseases, tumours, heart failure, circulatory disorder, thrombosis and other blood production-related diseases, asthma, high blood pressure and pregnancy.

COMO LLEGAR

Desde Budapest, por la carretera M7, conduzca por la orilla meridional del Lago Balaton, hasta Balatonszentgyörgy. Desde allí, puede tomar la salida 76 y después, la salida 71, en Fenékpuszta. Desde Vienna, llegará por la carretera A1, cambiandola por la A3, hasta Eisenstadt y luego continuará a Sopron. Desde allí, tomará la salida 84, hasta Balatonederics. Girará al Oeste y tomando la salida 71 por Keszthely, llegará a Héviz.

QUE VER

Iglesia Católica Románica del Espíritu Santo

es la más grande en Heviz. Acoge hasta 1000 personas. Tiene 7 torres que simbolizan los siete regalos del Espíritu Santo.

Iglesia Luterana

Los muros de piedra roja y decoración en márfil nos recuerdan las iglesias calvinistas húngaras en Transilvania. Merece la pena ver exhibición de artesanía hecha de madera.

Iglesia de los tiempos de Arpad

La iglesia de Egregy es una de las más bellas iglesias rurales de la época romana. Es, a la vez, una de las tres iglesias del tiempo de Arpad, que se han conservado intactas.

Antigua iglesia románica "Nagyboldogasszony"

Hoy en día, esta antigua iglesia sirve como albergue de la Madre Teresa.
